The Indigenous Arts Collective

The Collective is a voluntary organization of arts organizations in Tallahassee, the Big Bend, and across Florida who are committed to featuring the work of Indigenous artists in ethical and Native-centered ways. Together, we support efforts to shift the arts ecosystem to make the presentation and support of Indigenous arts and culture a sustained, rather than episodic, part of our community. To make this a realty, NAIS is committed to providing arts administrators and culture organizations with training and support as well as monthly events throughout the year to encourage inter-organizational collaboration. We will help our participants in the collective bring Indigenous artists to the region to engage in public exhibitions, panel discussions, creative residencies and community performances.
Working out of the Native American and Indigenous Studies Center at FSU, its initial partners include FSU's Museum of Fine Arts, Opening Nights, Ringling Museum, and Maggie Allesee National Center for Choreography. If you are interested in learning more and joining us, please contact nais@fsu.edu.
